Marceline 0
Hey, I’m considering installing electric drop screens on my pergola to improve privacy and provide some extra shade. I’ve seen a few options online, but I’m a bit unsure about the installation process. I want to make sure I do it right the first time! Does anyone here have experience installing electric drop screens on a pergola? Any tips or things I should be careful about during installation? dannywito 0
Hi there! I’ve installed electric drop screens before, and I can tell you it’s definitely doable with the right preparation. First off, make sure you have the correct measurements for your pergola. You don’t want to be stuck with a screen that’s too small or too large for your structure. The next thing I’d suggest is to check the weight of the screen. If it’s too heavy, you may need extra support, especially around the frame where you’ll be mounting the motor and screen. Also, double-check the power source – you'll need an accessible power outlet nearby for the motor. I’d recommend looking into a sturdy pergola, like the https://cosydeals.com.au/products/free-standing-polycarbonate-pergola-3x4m , which is solid and provides good support for these kinds of installations. It’s important to pick a pergola that’s strong enough to handle the additional weight of the screen and motor. Lastly, I’d suggest hiring a professional if you’re not comfortable with electrical installations, as it can be tricky if you’re not familiar with wiring. Hope that helps! Marceline 0
Another thing I learned from my own experience is to test everything before fully securing the screens. It’s always better to check if everything works before committing to the final setup.
