A constant challenge with running an RSPS is the battle against player stagnation, a state where the initial rush of rapid leveling fades into a predictable and repetitive grind. To keep a community entertained, one must look beyond basic mechanics of xp rand drop rates to focus on social layers and validation. Some of the current most successful servers (Impact, Ferox, etc) are those that treat the server as a dynamic world rather than a static server. This begins with the question of how one may detract players from the main grind to focus on more entertaining aspects. While players often claim they want fast experience and easy loot, providing too much too quickly leads to immediate burnout. The key is to implement a tiered progression system where the milestones feel earned but the path toward them is filled with minor victories. This ensures that a player never logs off feeling as though they made zero progress toward their ultimate goal.

	Seasonal Events

Keeping your server updated with festive events and seasons is a great way to spice up the server. From Halloween pumpkins and Christmas gifts to Easter eggs and Summer beach bonanzas, reskins and events add variety and nostalgia for players to experience the game in a fresh way. This does not need to include huge updates, time-limited cosmetics, themed bosses or events based on the season can be sufficient if executed with care and accuracy. As the rewards are associated with a limited time, it naturally generates a spike in activity as community members return to ensure that they do not miss out on exclusive content. In turn, it generates more players in social hubs which make the server feel alive. When a server is crowded and busy, it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy of success. Thus, players are more likely to stay if they see a vibrant and large community. By balancing fear of missing out (FOMO) with limited server events, you are able to create collective participation where everyone works toward similar temporary goals at the same time.

Another popular method to create long-term investment is through Leagues, a recent addition that has seen great popularity. When playing through leagues, players are able to experience the server from the start, but with a new perspective on gameplay. This reset allows for the introduction of powerful relics that alter the mechanics of the game. Some examples are increased attack speed, infinite run energy, or the ability to collect multiple resources at once. By providing superpowers through perks, you can offer a speed-infused version of the game that feels different from the main server, allowing players to discuss and plan strategies that would be impossible under normal conditions. It encourages a massive influx of creativity and competition as your community races to find the most efficient paths within the new ruleset. The best part of it is that players generally lose all progress, but generate points which can be used to purchase cosmetics for the main game.

	World Boss Massacres

World bosses are a huge deal for any server because they bring everyone together for a common goal. Instead of players grinding alone in a dungeon, you spawn a massive boss in a public spot where everyone can join the fight. This is great for your community because it lets new players fight together with the most experienced veterans. Because the boss has so much health and drops a lot of loot, it feels like a big server party rather than just another chore. You can set it up so that anyone who helps out gets a prize, which makes the whole thing feel fair and rewarding for everyone involved. These events are perfect for creating those "you had to be there" moments. When you announce a big boss spawn in the chat, you’ll see players dropping what they’re doing and rushing to the same spot. This sudden crowd makes the server look busy and successful, which is exactly what keeps people from logging off. It turns the game into a social event where people are chatting, showing off their gear, and working as a team. The excitement of potentially getting a rare drop keeps the energy high, and the sheer chaos of a hundred players attacking one target is a fun break from the usual routine.

To keep things interesting, you can cycle the boss every week or give it special attacks that requires people to coordinate to defeat it. Maybe the boss drops a special token that players can trade in for cool cosmetics or unique weapon skins that they can't get anywhere else. By making these bosses a regular but limited-time event, you give your players a reason to check back in every day. It’s a simple way to boost your player count and make sure there is always something fun happening, ensuring that no one ever feels like the server is getting boring or quiet.

	Skilling Hub Socials

Skilling hub socials are a fantastic way to turn a solo grind into a big community activity. Normally, training skills like woodcutting or fishing can feel lonely where you are just clicking the levels away by yourself. By creating a dedicated skilling hub, like a special bonfire that grants bonus firemaking experience or a single-fishing filled dock, you give players a reason to gather in one spot. When players see a huge group of people all working together, it makes the game feel much more alive and active. It changes a boring task into a social experience where people can chat, make friends, and show off their pets or outfits while they level up.

To make these hubs really popular, you can add small bonuses for training there. For example, you might give a slight boost to experience points or a better chance to find rare items if players stay within the hub area. These perks don't have to be massive to work, even a small extra benefit is enough to pull players away from their usual spots and into the crowd. Since everyone is working on the same goal in the same place, it naturally starts conversations and helps build a tighter community. It’s a great way to help new players feel welcome, as they can easily ask questions and get advice from the veterans standing right next to them.

These events are also super easy for you to run as a developer because they don't require huge code updates or new bosses. You can simply pick a different skill each weekend and announce it to the server. This keeps the world feeling fresh because the "hot spot" is always moving to a new location. When a server has these busy social hubs, it creates a great first impression for anyone logging in for the first time. Seeing a screen full of players chatting and skilling together proves that the server is healthy and fun to be a part of.

	Final Thoughts

These were just some examples, and there are many more you can add, e.g. automated PvP tournaments, hide and seek, drop parties, double xp or drop rate boosted weekends, and more. Ultimately, keeping an RSPS fun comes down to making sure there is always something to look forward to. Whether it is a massive boss fight, a cozy skilling social, or a competitive tournament, these events break up the daily routine and give players a reason to stay logged in. It’s not always about having the most complex code or the biggest updates; it’s about making the community feel like they are part of a world that is active, changing, and full of other people. When players feel like their progress matters and they have friends to share it with, they won't want to leave.

	Top RSPS of 2026 — Category Winners & Runners-Up

As the scene moves into 2026, several projects stand out across economy design, PvM depth, PvP polish, and community programming. Below is a category-by-category snapshot with short reasoning for each placement. Links are provided where official sites are available.

	💰 Eco (Economy)

Ferox — Fresh-economy momentum, aggressive content cadence, and progression loops (upgrades/perks) that continually consume resources and help prices find equilibrium. The game is relatively new but shocked the RSPS scene—taking the #1 spot on most toplists throughout 2025 and delivering the biggest release of last year. Beyond launch hype, Ferox leans into relic/perk systems, clan vault incentives, and collection-log rewards so supply keeps moving instead of being hoarded.

Alora — Long-running, OSRS-aligned market with predictable sinks/sources and an active hub of traders across time zones; patch cadence and event cycles help stabilize prices between leagues.

August — Multi-world accessibility (US/EU/OCE) and talent-tree systems that create steady demand for crafted items and supplies.

	🗡️ PvP

Roat Pkz — The PvP Titan: unbeaten for decades, polished combat feel, and a tournament machine that runs like clockwork. Crucially, its PvP systems are built for absolute beginners through to the best in the scene—there’s a reason both amateur and high-ranking competitive PKers use Roat Pkz. It’s also the only RSPS with a full PvP tracker, turning fights into measurable progress and meta learning.

SpawnPK — Spawn-based PvP with custom artifacts and high-risk culture that fuels constant Edgeville churn.

BattleScape — Balanced switches, accessible gearing, and regular brackets keep both singles and multi active.

	🐉 PvM

Alora — The most accurate 1:1 versions of almost every OSRS boss—no tacky shortcuts. Encounters are hand-polished by the owners and the attention to detail shows in mechanics, timings, and drops. Alora is also quick to add new bosses, keeping late-game teams busy and the meta fresh.

Ferox — Newer raids/encounters rolled out quickly; early-life economies reward organized PvM groups and log chasers.

August — Themed encounters and buildcraft (talents/perks) give bossing varied routes to BIS.

	🎲 Gambling

Roat Pkz — Deep casino suite (FP, Blackjack, Dice, Mines, more) with a large high-roller presence—and the highest RTP of any server. Notably, it’s the only major RSPS with an open-source provably-fair framework; every hand/roll/board is pre-committed by hash with player-verifiable seeds.

Redemption — Longstanding casino zone with multiple automated games and weekend pots that draw crowds.

SpawnPK — Creator-driven sessions and FP culture that reliably generate item sinks and marquee stakes.

	🛠️ Custom Content

Redemption — Formerly known as DreamScape, this project has dominated the custom scene for a decade. It’s truly for players who want something very different from the regular experience: bespoke bosses and zones, bold itemization, and a theme-park loop that prioritizes novelty.

Conquest — Bespoke gear tiers and encounter rule-sets that push progression beyond OSRS parity.

RXPS — Fast-paced drops and streamlined gearing offer a distinct alternative to traditional grinds.

	🪓 Skilling

Alora — Alora does not play around with skilling: the majority of systems are 1:1 with OSRS and carefully balanced. QoL (diaries, teleports, hubs) meets authenticity, and the owners’ eye for detail keeps methods relevant while avoiding power-creep.

Ferox — Early demand for consumables/materials and rotating bonuses keep gatherers busy.

August — Talent/perk interactions reward long-horizon skilling plans and crafted-item economies.

	🛡️ Ironman & Game Modes

Alora — One of the first RSPS to feature Ironman modes, and it shows: multiple variants, robust end-game, and clean parity with OSRS make solo progression feel complete. Coming into 2026, Alora has effectively perfected the category—rich routes without dead-ends.

August — Hybrid of custom perks and OSRS-style paths gives Iron players flexible routes to BIS.

Ferox — Fresh economy plus regular content drops create plentiful milestones for self-sufficient accounts.

	🎉 Community Events & Cadence

Roat Pkz — Frequent in-game events (daily tournaments, scheduled brackets, monthly Clan Cup) supported by visible seasonal updates. A large creator presence amplifies those beats, pulling returning players back for holiday drops and limited items.

Alora — Reliable weekly and monthly programming that engages both PvMers and skillers; leagues act as community-wide resets that refresh goals.

Alora — Structured, time-boxed ladders with in-game and IRL prizes keep populations engaged between major patches. Recent cycles have advertised rewards ranging from game-value items to real-world hardware, drawing organized teams and solo competitors alike.

Echo — Lean, challenge-focused sprints that highlight efficient routing and reward mastery.

	💵 Earning Real Money

Roat Pkz — Hands out around 10B OSRS GP per month via Clan Cup, LMS, Edge PKing, and tournaments—creating real-value pathways for top competitors.

Alora — Hosts regular leagues with real-life rewards such as laptops, PS5 consoles, gaming mice, and chairs—strong incentives for organized teams.

Grow Your RSPS the Smart Way: Advertising on RuneList.io

In the competitive world of RuneScape Private Servers, visibility is everything. You can have the most polished gameplay, unique content, and an active community—but without exposure, growth will always be limited. That’s where RuneList.io comes in.

RuneList is more than just a listing website. It’s a powerful discovery platform designed to help RSPS owners showcase their servers to thousands of active players every single day. Whether you’re just starting out or ready to dominate the scene, RuneList offers both free and premium advertising options tailored to every stage of your server’s journey.

Start for Free: The RSPS Toplist

One of the easiest and most effective ways to gain exposure on RuneList is completely free.

By registering your server on the RuneList RSPS Toplist and connecting your voting script, your community can vote daily to push your server higher on the rankings. The more votes you receive, the higher you climb.

	Why does this matter?
Servers in the Top 10 receive the highest number of impressions and clicks on the platform. This means more eyes on your server, more players joining, and more long-term growth—without spending a single euro.

For new servers, this is the perfect foundation.

How to Advertise Your RSPS in 2026

The Complete Promotion Guide for Maximum Player Growth

The RuneScape private server scene in 2026 is more crowded than ever. New servers launch every month, and the old go-to tactics—like basic forum posts—no longer turn heads. Players scroll past them without a second thought.

If you want your RSPS to stand out and attract a steady stream of players, your promotion strategy has to evolve with how people game today. Modern players want fast-paced fun, real community, and servers that feel genuinely fresh. Traditional ads fail because they feel forced and salesy. What works now is a blend of authenticity, eye-catching content, and smart targeting.

This guide breaks down everything you need to know to advertise your RSPS effectively in 2026—and build a player base that actually sticks around.

Build a Strong Foundation Before You Promote

No amount of marketing can save a weak server. In 2026, players leave quickly if your RSPS feels laggy, buggy, or boring. Before spending a single dollar on ads, make sure your foundation is solid.

	Server Quality & Player Retention

Top RSPS servers in 2026 run smoothly, even during peak hours. Crashes, broken quests, or unbalanced combat systems are instant turn-offs. Fix the fundamentals before launch, then focus on what makes your server different—custom skills, unique events, or mechanics that larger servers overlook.

Your unique selling points should be obvious. Maybe your server offers faster, less grindy progression or a mobile-friendly experience that feels native. From day one, track retention. A strong benchmark is getting 40% of new players to return after their first week.

Use beta testing to your advantage. Compare features, quests, or progression systems to see what keeps players engaged longer. This saves you money on advertising later by ensuring your server is worth promoting.

	Understand the 2026 RSPS Player

Today’s RSPS players blend nostalgia with modern expectations. Many are between 18 and 25, often playing on their phones during breaks. They love the classic RuneScape feel but hate excessive grinding and wasted time. Some chase PvP adrenaline, while others prefer relaxed co-op gameplay.

To understand them better, ask questions. Run polls on Reddit or Discord. Use tools like Google Forms to find out why players left official servers and what they wish existed instead. Patterns quickly emerge—faster leveling, quality-of-life features, and meaningful progression matter more than ever.

Build a clear player profile: age, device, playstyle, and motivation. A mobile-first player might prefer short, rewarding sessions, while a veteran may value deep lore and long-term goals. Tailor your promotion to match your ideal audience, and your messaging will hit harder.

Create Advertising Assets Players Want to Click

Visuals dominate in 2026. Blurry screenshots and static banners won’t cut it anymore. High-quality videos—think epic boss fights, rare drops, or funny in-game moments—are what stop players from scrolling.

Your website matters just as much. It should load in under three seconds on any device. Place sign-up buttons front and center, and include a short teaser video that immediately shows what makes your server special.

The best ads tell a story. Show a player progressing through your world instead of listing stats or features. Free tools like Canva work well for quick banners, but investing in professional design can dramatically improve conversion rates.

Use Modern Social Media to Your Advantage

Forums still exist, but most players discover new servers through social feeds. If you’re not active where players scroll, you’re invisible.

	TikTok & Short-Form Video

TikTok is one of the biggest drivers of RSPS growth in 2026. Short, punchy clips—around 15 seconds—perform best. Showcase rare drops, speed runs, or unique server mechanics, and add voiceovers that highlight what makes your RSPS different.

Use trending sounds and relevant hashtags like #RSPS2026 or #PrivateServerFun to boost visibility. Posting consistently (around 10 times per week) builds momentum. One viral clip can easily bring in hundreds of new sign-ups overnight.

Track engagement closely. Likes, shares, and watch time will show you what style resonates most with your audience.

Partner With Creators Who Actually Convert

Large streamers are expensive and often ineffective for niche communities. Instead, work with micro-influencers who focus on RuneScape content. A creator with 5,000 engaged followers can drive more loyal players than someone with a massive but general audience.

Offer early access so creators can record honest playthroughs. In one example, a mid-sized RSPS partnered with a YouTube creator for a launch video that reached 20,000 views and increased registrations by over 300%.

Twitch drops are another powerful tool. Viewers receive in-game rewards just for watching streams, turning passive viewers into active players.

Turn Discord Into Your Growth Engine

Discord is no longer just a chat platform—it’s your community hub and promotional engine.

Share sneak peeks of upcoming updates, host developer AMAs, and involve players in decision-making. Invite-only beta tests create excitement and exclusivity, especially when teased on platforms like TikTok.

Reward community members who invite friends with exclusive cosmetics or titles. A strong Discord community keeps players engaged long after they first log in.

	Smarter Paid Advertising in 2026

Ads are more expensive than ever, but when done right, they still deliver strong returns.

Focus on high-intent searches like “best RSPS 2026” or “free to play RuneScape private server.” Video ads on platforms like Facebook and Instagram work well when they show real gameplay.

Retarget visitors who didn’t sign up with messages like “Come back for bonus gold.” These campaigns often convert 20–25% better than cold traffic. Start with small daily budgets to test what works before scaling.

	Track Everything (Especially Post-Cookie)

With cookies becoming unreliable, accurate tracking is critical. Use server-side analytics and unique promo codes for each platform—like TIKTOK10 or YTSTARTER—to see exactly where players come from.

Unique tracking links for every campaign or creator remove guesswork. Tools like Google Analytics or Bitly make it easy to measure cost per acquisition. One server discovered that 60% of its players came from YouTube instead of forums and reallocated its entire budget accordingly.

	Stay Within Ad Platform Rules

Gaming ads often walk a fine line, especially with loot boxes and rewards. Frame your RSPS as an adventure, not a get-rich-quick scheme. Avoid language like “easy money” or “fast rewards.”

Ad policies on platforms like Google and Meta change frequently, so review them monthly. Even small wording changes—such as replacing “earn fast” with “explore freely”—can keep your campaigns running smoothly.

Utilize Traditional & Niche Promotion Outlets

While new platforms grab attention, older and niche channels still attract highly motivated players when used correctly.

	RSPS Listing Websites (High-Intent Traffic)

Dedicated RSPS listing websites are still one of the most effective ways to reach players actively searching for a new server. Platforms such as RuLocus, RSPS-List, and RuneList are built specifically for private server discovery.

These websites offer advertising plans for every budget, from basic free listings to premium featured placements that push your server to the top of search results. Because visitors arrive with the intent to play, this traffic often converts better than social media ads.

To maximize results, keep your listing updated with professional banners, screenshots, and recent patch notes. Actively responding to reviews and feedback also helps boost credibility and improve ranking visibility.

	Forums & Community Boards

Engage meaningfully on RuneScape-related forums instead of spamming links. Share development updates, answer questions, and build trust over time. A well-maintained forum presence can still deliver consistent organic players.

	Partnerships & Cross-Promotion

Collaborate with related gaming communities, MMO subreddits, or Discord servers where nostalgia-driven players already gather. Cross-server events or exclusive rewards for partner communities can generate strong mutual growth.

Use Email to Bring Players Back

Email marketing remains one of the strongest retention tools available. Segment your lists so new players receive onboarding tips, while inactive players get re-engagement messages.

Automated emails—such as welcome messages, feedback surveys, and patch announcements—can significantly boost return rates. One campaign brought back 35% of inactive players simply by highlighting new content.

	Conclusion: Growth Comes From Adaptation

Advertising your RSPS in 2026 isn’t a one-time effort—it’s an ongoing process. Trends change fast, and what works today may not work tomorrow. The key is to test constantly, listen to your players, and adapt quickly.

Focus on server quality first, lean heavily into video content, and track every traffic source accurately. Do that, and your player base will start growing on its own.

Start now. Set up your tracking, launch a small TikTok test, and refine as you go. With the right approach, your RSPS can thrive in 2026 and beyond.

Top Economy RSPS Coming Into 2026

As 2026 approaches, three economy-centric servers stand out based on their public positioning, update cadence, feature depth, and community momentum across 2025. Below is a concise, linkable snapshot for players seeking an economy-first home world.

	🥇 #1 Alora.io -

Why it ranks first: Alora is widely regarded as a long-running, OSRS-aligned economy server with a mature marketplace and steady development.

Longevity & stability. Years of continuous operation with a reputation for consistent maintenance and balance changes that support a durable economy.

OSRS-like PvM breadth. Advertises close alignment with headline Old School encounters, sustaining demand for supplies and gear.

Mode diversity that feeds trade. Tradable modes alongside self-sufficient ones (e.g., Iron variants) create natural item sinks and sources.

Frequent events. Regularly scheduled activities help cycle wealth and keep markets liquid during peak seasons.

Community infrastructure. Large Discord/forums presence with guides and price references that reduce friction for new traders.

	🥈 #2 Ferox.PS -

Why it lands second: Ferox.ps positions itself as a fresh economy with systems designed to create long-horizon progression and recurring item demand.

Fresh start economics. Newer marketplace with early “price discovery” opportunities for merchants and grinders.

Layered progression. Perk/relic or upgrade-style systems (as advertised) generate ongoing need for resources rather than one-and-done gear checks.

Active rollout rhythm. Launch/post-launch events and visible patch cycles support player retention during the crucial first year.

Staffed development. Public materials highlight an organized team—useful for fast iteration on balance and sinks.

Onboarding focus. Starter paths and accessible early-game PvM help seed a broad buyer/seller base quickly.

	🥉 #3 August RSPS -

Why it takes third: August blends custom systems with economy sensibilities, aiming for around-the-clock activity via multi-region accessibility.

Multi-world reach. Operates with regional worlds and cross-time-zone play patterns that keep trading active off-peak.

Custom progression loops. Talent/perk trees and themed raids encourage ongoing consumption of crafted items and supplies.

Market liquidity features. Global chat/social systems and regular events funnel players into the same virtual marketplace.

Content cadence. Public roadmaps/announcements emphasize new bosses, modes, and QoL that help refresh demand.

Creator-driven visibility. Consistent showcase by streamers/video creators draws fresh entrants into the economy cycle.

🧭 How RuneList.io evaluated economy servers

Where Are RSPS Players From? Top 10 Servers & Their Biggest Player Bases (Winter 2025)

Method at a glance: This snapshot reflects observed patterns (peak-time activity by timezone, language use in public chats/Discords, streamer audience geos, and regional event timing). It is not official geo-analytics, but a directional look at why specific regions cluster around certain servers.

Why these regions? Long-running eco-first identity plus near-OSRS PvM parity make Alora a natural fit for UK/US primetimes. Finland and India show steady clan presence thanks to reliable uptime, balanced economy, and raid schedules that align with evening hours across those regions.

	#2 Roat Pkz: 🇺🇸 United States • 🇬🇧 United Kingdom • 🇳🇱 Netherlands • 🇮🇱 Israel

Why these regions? The #1 PvP hub with 24/7 wilderness action and active gambling keeps US/UK traffic high. Netherlands and Israel feature entrenched clans and late-night activity windows, sustaining lively multi and singles scenes across EU and Middle East evenings.

	#3 Ferox.ps: 🇺🇸 United States • 🇬🇧 United Kingdom • 🇻🇪 Venezuela • 🇸🇪 Sweden

Why these regions? As a newly released server, Ferox.ps spikes in English-speaking markets via creator promos (US/UK). Venezuela’s early-economy appeal and Sweden’s organized PvM groups help fill raids around EU evenings and NA late nights.

	#4 August RSPS: 🇺🇸 United States • 🇸🇪 Sweden • 🇦🇺 Australia • 🇳🇿 New Zealand

Why these regions? The multi-world routing and perk-driven progression suit North American schedules while offering Oceania-friendly latency for late-night bossing. Swedish communities gravitate to consistent raid rotations and structured event calendars.

	#5 Impact RSPS: 🇻🇪 Venezuela • 🇮🇳 India • 🇮🇱 Israel • 🇵🇰 Pakistan

Why these regions? A heavily PvM-focused loop with limited PvP/gambling draws players who prefer sustained bossing. Spanish is prevalent in public chat (Venezuelan presence). India, Israel, and Pakistan appear via creator reach and clan migrations seeking stable PvM rotations at varied time zones.

	#6 Reason RSPS: 🇩🇪 Germany • 🇪🇪 Estonia • 🇺🇸 United States

Why these regions? A community-first economy and restrained pay-to-win resonate with German and Baltic groups. US traffic benefits from event times that align with East/Central evening slots and regular creator coverage.

	#7 SpawnPK: 🇺🇸 United States • 🇬🇧 United Kingdom • 🇫🇮 Finland

Why these regions? Spawn-PvP with custom artifacts fuels Edgeville activity for US/UK. Finland’s tight PK circles help populate risk fights during EU prime. Despite prior infrastructure turbulence, tournaments and high-risk sessions kept the core returning.

	#8 Ikov / Elkoy: 🇬🇧 United Kingdom • 🇵🇱 Poland • 🇨🇦 Canada

Why these regions? Legacy brand recognition and a familiar skilling/PvM loop sustain UK veterans. Polish discord communities favor long-form grinds, while Canadian players line up well with NA-friendly raids that still overlap late EU evenings.

	#9 Redemption: 🇺🇸 United States • 🇵🇭 Philippines • 🇧🇷 Brazil

Correlation, not census: Peaks, language prevalence, and event attendance inform these call-outs; real distributions fluctuate week to week.

Why regions cluster: Time-zone fit, creator coverage in local languages, latency to world hosts, and server “identity” (eco, PvM, spawn PK, custom) all shape who sticks.

Project Zanaris Paused Indefinitely — What It Means for Old School & the RSPS Scene

Jagex has announced that Project Zanaris, the long-teased “community servers” initiative for Old School RuneScape, is on hold with no set return date. The decision, published in an official news post on June 3 2025, cites mixed community sentiment and a renewed focus on core game infrastructure.

	🗓️ Timeline of Key Events

September 2024 — Reveal at RuneFest. Jagex unveils Project Zanaris as a way for players to spin up bespoke OSRS worlds with custom rule-sets.

October–December 2024 — Monthly dev blogs. Iterative updates outline cloud-hosted worlds, save-state transfers, and experimental PvP toggles.

03 June 2025 — Pause announced. Jagex freezes all work on Zanaris, reallocating the team to main-game content and infrastructure projects.

	🔍 Why Pull the Plug?

Community split. Player polls and subreddit threads showed concern over fragmenting the OSRS player base and poll system.

Technical distraction. Engineers building cloud server tech and customisation pipelines are now redirected to stabilise existing worlds and broaden region coverage.

Resource reshuffle. Staff attached to Zanaris have been “redistributed across Jagex” following an internal restructuring.

🌐 Immediate Impact on Private Server Ambitions

Zanaris represented the first official private-server framework: legitimate, Jagex-hosted and compliant with the game’s economy. Its pause leaves a vacuum that unofficial RSPS operators will inevitably try to fill. Expect:

Renewed hype cycles around “Zanaris-style” community servers from independent devs.

Higher legal scrutiny as third-party projects market themselves on abandoned Zanaris features.

Player caution following recent security scares (e.g., Impact.GG client drama). Safety checks remain paramount.

🚀 What Happens to the Tech?

Jagex confirms that cloud-hosting code, customisation tooling, and event concepts born inside Zanaris will be folded into Old School’s live roadmap. Early beneficiaries include:

Temporary event worlds. Faster spin-ups for leagues, DMM-style tournaments, and experimental PvM modifiers.

Improved regional servers. Underserved areas may receive lower-latency worlds as cloud prototypes mature.

Backend resilience. Load-balancing tech designed for Zanaris will bolster peak-time stability.

	💬 Community Reaction

Reaction is mixed. Creators who built entire content series around prospective custom worlds expressed disappointment, while PvP clans welcomed a renewed focus on core balance. Industry commentators note that Jagex’s transparency—pausing early rather than shipping an under-baked feature—may earn goodwill in the long run.

	🔮 Outlook

For now, Zanaris enters the fairy ring and vanishes. Whether it returns depends on player priorities and Jagex’s success in strengthening OSRS’s backbone. Until then, the door is wide open for independent RSPS developers to iterate—but without official protection, players should exercise the usual caution.

Jagex Targets Boom-Scape.com & AnarchyScape.net in Latest UDRP Wave

Two more RuneScape Private Server (RSPS) domains—Boom-Scape.com and AnarchyScape.net—have entered the Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP) system, marking the most recent step in Jagex Ltd.’s ongoing trademark-enforcement campaign against private servers that trade on the popular “-scape” branding.

	🗓️ Timeline of Key Events

Early May 2025 — Filings logged. The Czech Arbitration Court (CAC) online docket shows new UDRP cases opened against Boom-Scape.com and AnarchyScape.net. Case numbers have not yet progressed to a published decision stage, indicating proceedings are still pending. (https://udrp.adr.eu/domains/list)

13 Jan 2025 — Scape05.com transferred. A CAC panel accepted Jagex’s complaint and ordered Scape05.com to be handed over, setting a precedent for “year+scape” names. (https://udrp.adr.eu/decisions/detail?id=678632938ed0f74a0103430a)

30 Jan 2025 — Rune-Rift.com filing. Jagex lodged (and later won) a complaint against Rune-Rift.com, underlining a pattern that any “Rune / Scape”-adjacent brand is vulnerable. (https://udrp.adr.eu/decisions/detail?id=67f4d38e567aec360c0ec600)

28 Jan 2025 — “Round 2” blog post. Community outlet RSPS Toplist reported a second wave of UDRP notices, warning operators that more domains were on the chopping block.

Ongoing — CAC docket growth. The CAC’s public list of disputed domains now exceeds 11 000 entries, with “scape”-styled RSPS names appearing more frequently throughout 2024–2025. (https://udrp.adr.eu/decisions/list)

	📊 Why Boom-Scape & AnarchyScape?

Brand similarity. Both domains combine game-related descriptors (“Boom” / “Anarchy”) with -scape, a root Jagex successfully argued is confusingly similar to RuneScape in earlier cases.

Commercial presence. Each site advertises an OSRS-based experience, accepts donations, and promotes in-game micro-shops—factors UDRP panels routinely treat as “bad-faith commercial use” when trademarked content is involved.

Precedent momentum. After winning filings for Scape05.com, Rune-Wild.com, and others, Jagex’s counsel (Stobbs IP) is leveraging favourable rulings to accelerate new complaints.

	⚖️ What Happens Next?

Under ICANN rules, respondents have 20 days to answer a UDRP complaint. If Boom-Scape or AnarchyScape fail to convince the panel they have a legitimate, non-infringing reason to keep the domains, CAC can order an immediate transfer to Jagex. Operators typically pivot to alternate TLDs (
.io
,
.to
, etc.) or re-brand entirely.

	🌐 Industry Impact

Legal pressure is reshaping the RSPS landscape in 2025:

		Premium domains under threat. High-traffic
.com
and
.net
names are being replaced by region-agnostic TLDs less exposed to UDRP transfer.

Rising compliance costs. Servers are investing in trademark-neutral branding and clearer disclaimers to avoid infringing claims.

Community fragmentation. Players report confusion when favourite servers “vanish” during proceedings, driving short-term migrations to competitors.

	🔮 Outlook

With every successful decision, Jagex sharpens its legal toolkit. Unless operators adopt unique, non-Runescape-adjacent branding—or migrate to jurisdictions outside mainstream ICANN control—the attrition of legacy “-scape” names is likely to continue through 2025.

Summary: David—the long-time owner of RuneWild—has publicly denied any involvement with the upcoming server Impact.GG. His statement ends weeks of speculation that he might be a silent partner in the project.

	💬 What David Said

In a brief Discord announcement, David wrote:

“I am not affiliated with this new server, nor would I suggest anyone play it — I’ve seen alarming things spreading around regarding the owner, and this owner has already attempted to copy RuneWild before. Beware.”

The message was concise but firm, aiming to quell rumours that had circulated in the past week. The tone of the message displays his tiredness of RuneWild copycats. (source here)

	🎙️ Response from Impact.GG

Shortly after David’s post, Impact.GG owner “Jax” was questioned and issued his own clarification:

“No, I am not 😄 (David). We have taken the top features from the top servers to try and create the best next server”

Jax’s statement underscores a desire to separate Impact.GG from RuneWild’s brand while still acknowledging that the new project draws inspiration from established platforms. (source here)

	🌐 Community Reaction

Most RuneWild veterans were unsurprised; many had already assumed David was not involved.

A smaller group expressed disappointment, hoping RuneWild’s code base or leadership would anchor Impact.GG.

Industry observers note David’s tone suggests fatigue with repeated “RuneWild clones” entering the scene.

	🔎 Why the Disclaimer Matters

Linking a respected legacy server to a new launch can create expectation—and liability—overnight. By publicly distancing himself, David shields RuneWild’s reputation from any negative fallout that might accompany Impact.GG’s debut. According to sources, he currently lives a lavish life in Dubai and has shifted focus to non-gaming ventures, including selling jewellery. With RuneWild in maintenance mode awaiting Jagex’s Project Zanaris, David appears keen to avoid distraction or brand confusion.

	• Impact.GG: Still targeting a June. Without RuneWild pedigree attached, the project will stand—or fall—on its own technical merits.
• Scene Impact: David’s directness sets a welcome precedent for transparency; players now have clear guidance on the origins of each project.

	🚀 A Bumpy Launch Weekend 🚧

After months of anticipation, Reason RSPS launched its major revision upgrade in the late hours of May 1, 2025. This update – essentially an overhaul integrating the latest game content and engine – was one of the most ambitious in the server’s history. The team expected some turbulence (there’s “a big difference between live and beta,” as owner Lexi noted), and indeed the early rollout had its hiccups. Within the first hour, unexpected issues emerged: players noticed certain account data (such as Ironman mode status and unlocked prayers like Augury and Rigour) hadn’t transferred correctly under the new system. In response, the developers made the tough call to roll back to the pre-update state around 3:00 AM on May 2 to prevent any lasting damage while they fixed the underlying problems.

That pre-dawn rollback kicked off a long night of troubleshooting. After about thirty minutes of downtime, the server was brought back online, only to encounter another critical bug that forced a second temporary shutdown. By 4:00 AM, Lexi took the server offline again, vowing not to reopen until 100% of accounts were loading correctly. It was a sleepless night for the team. Ultimately, around 5:30 AM, an honest update was delivered to players: roughly 20% of accounts couldn’t be automatically repaired due to a glitch in a new saving system that had been implemented weeks prior. Rather than prolong downtime, the staff re-launched the server and pledged to manually assist affected individuals (for example, restoring lost Ironman status case-by-case). “We tried our best and there is no other option left,” Lexi wrote, apologizing sincerely to the community. Despite the rocky start, the revision update was officially live – and the real work of fine-tuning it had begun.

	📢 Transparent Communication & Quick Fixes 💬

Throughout this turbulent rollout, Reason’s development team demonstrated remarkable transparency and responsiveness. Lexi and her team kept players constantly in the loop via Discord. Every major event – from the initial launch and subsequent rollbacks to minor patches – was communicated in real time through the server’s announcement channel. Instead of downplaying issues, the team addressed them head-on. When the new revision client first went up, Lexi candidly warned players that “some things might be broken” and promised that the next 24–72 hours would be spent fixing bugs and stabilizing the game. True to her word, the following days saw near-round-the-clock updates: multiple quick patches and restarts to squash bugs as they were found.

The developers didn’t shy away from player questions or concerns either. Lexi herself was active in the general chat, acknowledging bugs and giving updates on what was being worked on. She openly discussed the challenges (at one point humorously remarking, “we tested like 100x” in response to surprise at a missed issue) and ensured players knew their feedback was heard. On May 3, after a day of nonstop fixes, Lexi informed everyone that a particularly troublesome feature – the Trading Post – would be temporarily disabled for 24–48 hours so the team could focus on more urgent stability fixes. This level of openness is rare in the RSPS scene, and it fostered a sense of trust: players didn’t have to guess what was happening behind the scenes because the team was telling them, minute by minute.

Facing the flood of bug reports, the Reason RSPS team also expanded to meet the challenge. Less than two days into the update, they welcomed a new developer, Glabay, to help tackle the backlog of issues. With now three developers on deck, patches rolled out even faster. Lexi advised players to expect multiple server restarts as the fixes were deployed one after another – a sign of just how responsive the team was in addressing problems. By being transparent and communicative, the developers turned what could have been a frustrating wait for fixes into a collaborative effort, with the community rallying around each progress update.

	🎁 Community Engagement & Celebration 🎉

The Reason team went above and beyond to keep their community engaged and positive during the upgrade turbulence. As a gesture of appreciation for everyone’s patience through the downtimes and fixes, the staff activated a month-long Double XP event, allowing players to boost their progress throughout May. On top of that, they scheduled an onslaught of donation boss spawns – special in-game boss events typically triggered by player donations – dropping dozens of extra bosses across the weekend and following week. These surprise encounters gave players exciting opportunities for loot and served as fun distractions from the technical issues. The team even threw in playful perks like free “camel” item refills, turning the rollout weekend into a bit of a celebration despite the challenges.

Crucially, the community responded with an outpouring of support. While any major update comes with its share of player frustration, the overwhelming sentiment in Reason’s Discord was understanding and gratitude. Many players could see firsthand how hard the developers were working to fix things, and they appreciated the constant communication. It wasn’t uncommon to see gamers in the chat encouraging the team or thanking them for the swift updates. By the end of that first week, as most of the major bugs were stamped out, players were already noticing significant improvements. “I thought we were a bug-free RSPS,” Lexi joked wryly after one player praised the post-update server performance as “legit flawless.” The good vibes were palpable – what began as a stressful launch had evolved into a rallying point for the community.

	✨ A Major Milestone Achieved ✅

In the end, Reason RSPS’s revision upgrade stands as a major milestone for the server and its community. Tackling a full revision update – essentially transplanting the game’s core to a new era of content – is notoriously complex, but the Reason team pulled it off through determination, transparency, and a deep commitment to their players. With the update now successfully stabilized, players are already enjoying the new content and features that prompted the upgrade in the first place. More importantly, the process has strengthened the bond between the server’s staff and its community. Lexi and her team have shown that even when things get hectic, keeping players informed and involved makes all the difference.

Reason RSPS’s transparent rollout of this revision update not only earned the respect of its community, but also set a new example for how to handle big changes in an online server. By openly addressing problems, rapidly deploying fixes, and celebrating the community that stuck with them, Reason has turned a daunting technical challenge into a success story. The server heads into the future on a high note – revision upgraded, fully engaged with its players, and ready for whatever comes next.

🌍 New RSPS technology - August becomes the first RSPS with multiple inter-connected Game Worlds

	• True Multi-World Pioneered – August RSPS introduces cross-world play, a first in RSPS history.
• Global Regions, Low Latency – Seamless game worlds in North America, Europe, and Australia minimize lag for players worldwide.
• Synced Systems – Public chat, Yell, private messages, Clan chat, Grand Exchange, parties & Group Ironman (GIM) banks are unified across all worlds.
• Ghost Players – Players from other worlds appear as “ghosts” in-game, reinforcing a single unified community.
• Grand Exchange Overhaul – Existing GE orders were cleared for the rewrite; old offers can be reclaimed via
::oldge
.
• Massive Code Overhaul – Major backend and infrastructure rewrites power this unprecedented global system.
• Live & Beyond – Beta tests have finished with new world servers in Paris and Sydney launched.

	────────────────────────────────────────

📡 Bridging Worlds: A Revolution in RSPS 🌐

In an unprecedented move, August RSPS has become the first private server to deploy multiple inter-connected game worlds. This groundbreaking achievement means players are no longer confined to a single world – they can play on regional servers (North America, Europe, Australia) while remaining part of one unified game world. It’s a milestone that is being hailed as a major moment in RSPS history, as no other server has offered true cross-world interaction until now.

The new system effectively links all August worlds into one shared experience. A player on the NA world can trade and chat seamlessly with someone on the EU world, and even see their character as a translucent “ghost” roaming around. Public chat, Yell announcements, private messages, clan chats – all of it is synchronized globally, so the community stays together no matter which world they’re in. Even group activities are global: friends can form parties or clans across worlds, and Group Ironman teams share the same bank across continents. August has essentially removed the traditional barriers between separate servers, creating a singular, cohesive player experience worldwide.

Achieving this feat required a significant overhaul under the hood. The development team rebuilt large portions of the server’s codebase and infrastructure to enable real-time communication between distant servers. Core systems like the Grand Exchange were rewritten to operate across all worlds – a complex task that led the team to wipe existing GE orders in preparation for the new unified economy. (Players haven’t lost out, as any pre-update offers can still be retrieved via the
::oldge
command.) This massive technical effort has paid off, with August now running a stable network of world servers that talk to each other almost instantaneously, all while keeping latency to a minimum.

With the multi-world architecture in place, August has now fully beta tested the system. A Europe-based world in Paris and an Australia-based world in Sydney are now LIVE, joining the primary NA world and truly globalizing the server’s reach. Players are now able to choose a local world for better ping without missing out on the wider community or economy. August’s multi-world launch is not just a technical triumph – it’s a bold vision of a global RSPS community, and a pioneering step that is likely to redefine what players expect from private servers.

To get the Fire Cape, the second-best melee cape in Old School RuneScape, you must complete the TzHaar Fight Cave. In this article, we’ll be going through all the suggested skill levels and equipment, waves of monsters, positioning, and the formidable Tztok-Jad, the final boss of the Fight Caves.

The Tzhaar Fight Cave is a combat minigame wherein you need to complete 63 waves of Tzhaar creatures to be able to succeed. Upon completion, you’ll be rewarded with the OSRS Fire Cape, a symbol of accomplishment in OSRS. The cape provides not only defensive bonuses, but also offensive ones, a +4 to Strength, and a +2 to Prayer.

For beginners, completing the Fight Cave can take around an hour. Fortunately, it’s a safe minigame, which means you won’t lose any items if you fail. If you’re up for a challenge, the Fight Cave will test your basic combat abilities.

	Location

The Tzhaar Fight Cave is located beneath Karamja. So, all you need to do is go through the Karamja dungeon entrance by going down the rope near the volcano. From there, enter the crevice to arrive in Mor Ul Rek.

For quicker access, you can use the TzHaar Fight Pit minigame teleport or the fairy ring code "blp".

	Recommended Stats, Equipment, and Inventory

Ranged is the recommended combat style due to its effectiveness against enemies that utilize melee attacks. You might find some of the recommended equipment in this list to be pricey — we recommend you to buy OSRS gold on our website.

	Wave Strategy

The Fight Cave has plenty of spots to safely stack enemies, so you’ll be fighting them one-by-one instead of being overwhelmed by the waves. The simplest location that you can reliably go to is the ridge by the northeast of the map, popularly called the Italy rock by the community. In this spot, you can stick to the wall while waiting for the enemies to approach you, and you can stack them up so that they’ll line up to attack you. Larger enemies such as the Yt-MejKot will get stuck behind the wall, making the other monsters line up behind it, making you safe from melee hits.

This strategy conserves your resources, as you won’t be taking too much damage compared to fighting in the open. When using Saradomin Brews, drink two to three doses before sipping one dose of Super Restore to counteract the debuff.

	TzTok-Jad Fight Walkthrough

After surviving 62 waves of the Fight Cave, you’ll face TzTok-Jad, who spawns where the orange Ket-Zek appeared. Make sure to take note of this location, as TzTok-Jad can kill you in one hit if you fail to use the correct protection prayer.

TzTok-Jad has two attacks (three if you count its melee attack) — a stomping ranged attack, and a magic fireball attack. The animation of the ranged attack is Jad stomping his forelegs onto the ground. For his fireball, Jad stands up on his hindlegs to launch this magic attack towards you. Use the appropriate protection prayer here, as these attacks have a high chance of killing you. Also, stay away from TzTok-Jad to avoid it from doing melee attacks.

At 50% HP, four Yt-HurKot will spawn to heal Jad — attack these enemies once to get their aggro to stop them from healing, then go back to attacking Jad.

Remain calm — as panicking can lead to fatal mistakes. With careful preparation, knowledge, and calm execution, you can succeed in the TzHaar Fight Cave and obtain the Fire Cape.
It is one of the biggest dreams of every RuneScape Private Server player.. Owning your very own server. But that seems easier than it is. With creating your brand, hiring developers (or learning how to develop a server yourself), and marketing your server, you'll also need to find a trusted hosting company that will host your server with zero downtime.

Today we will inform you about hosting your RuneScape Private Server. We're going to explain what you need to know to get your server online. When you have a server that is "ready" to go online, you should navigate to a hosting company's website. In this example, we are using a reliable (Private Server oriented) Hosting company, called "HostHappy".

Once you have navigated to their site, you'll see two options. Option A "KVM Windows VPS" and Option B "KVM Linux VPS". By the way, you can also host your website via HostHappy and possibly buy a domain. Right off the bat, the most obvious difference between option A and V is the cost. Linux is less expensive on average, a Linux VPS is cheaper than a Windows VPS with the same specification. If you are a beginner and don't have an IT team behind you, a Windows VPS can be easier to manage since it can be accessed with a remote desktop with direct GUI access. Also, another benefit of having a Linux VPS is that they offer unlimited bandwidth at 10GBPS.

At "HostHappy" they sell different packages that meet the needs of all customers. For starters, they sell 'Sapphire' which is available for both OS. This package starts at $8.99 per month for Linux and $15.99 per month for Windows. For an average server, you'll quickly need a 'Ruby' package that sells for $44.99 per month for Linux and $49.99 per month for Windows. The most expensive package sold at HostHappy is called the 'Diamond' package. It costs $79.99 per month for Linux and a whopping $84.99 per month for Windows.

A feature of this VPS is that you get 10 vCore (CPU) at 2.8Ghz, 48 GB RAM (memory), 500 GB NMVE Storage, and of course unmetered bandwidth at 10GBPS.

HostHappy may not be the cheapest Hosting Company, but they still offer the best quality servers. By the way, they stand for their priorities:

Easy Switch to HostHappy since they offer free migrations.

HostHappy continuously monitors its networks, servers, and threats to ensure a reliable environment. They stick true to their 99.9% uptime.

Their 'UltraFast' servers minimize your page load times because of the 10GBPS ports.

HostHappy's VPS are guarded against Distributed Denial of Service (DDOS) attacks, with up to 150GBPS for layer 3/4 and 25GBPS for layer 7 attacks.

Make sure to check HostHappy out if you are looking to host your RuneScape Private Server.

As HostHappy would say.. Stay Happy, Stay Online.

Advertising your Runescape private server is one of the keys points to a server's success. In fact, it is perhaps the most important aspect of attracting players to your RSPS. Together with having unique / bug-free content and a motivated team, your server can become a great success.

There are many great methods which you can utilize to advertise your RSPS. All options are good, but the best practice is to combine a variety of advertising strategies – don’t put all of your eggs in one basket. In this way, you are can maximize your chances of reaching the most amount of potential players.

	1. Hire Content Creators

One of the most effective, yet costly strategy to attract players to your RSPS is hiring content creators. This entails paying a Youtuber or Streamer to create videos for your server. First, you want to find an active content creator and negotiate a deal for their services. It is important that you provide the content creator with key features to cover within the video. Content creators often work with multiple other servers which means they cannot always keep up with all the content in each server. The more information you can supply them, the more your video will video will turn out how you want it.

A single video is not going to cut it either - repetition is what sells. It is recommended to plan a video advertisement campaign with content creators. Preferably, the content creator should record a series of videos for your RSPS to constantly remind players of your server and give them the impression that your server is continuously active.

While searching for the right Youtuber / Streamer for your server it is important to keep in mind that not every content creator earns their views, likes, and subscribers fairly. Some content creators inflate their engagement by purchasing fake subscribers/views/comments to make it seem like they are doing better than they really are. In reality, you might be paying way too much and receive little in return on your investment. With that said, the number of views and subscribers aren’t everything. You can utilize tools like Socialblade to research the background of Youtubers’ channel growth. You can use this tool to view Youtuber statistics to see if there are any unusually high spikes in followers / views. If a Youtuber’s subscribers jumped by 200 people in one day, then you could probably infer that person is purchasing fake subscribers. Additionally, you can always ask around the RSPS community to see who players enjoy watching. Or you can likely conclude Youtubers that are frequently used by large servers are probably a good outlet to promote your server.

A content creator costs on average between $60-$250 per video/stream. Of course, the price difference is typically determined by the number of real subscribers and activity on the channel. For example, a channel with about 1500 subscribers might cost $60/video, whereas a channel with about 2500 subscribers might cost around $125. On the higher end, a channel with 5000+ subscribers can cost around $200 per video. It is possible to make a special deal with the content creator so that you get more videos for less money. Remember, a content creator usually expects to get paid first before they get started.

	2. Buy advertisement spots on RSPS platforms

Another possible way to advertise your RSPS is to buy ad spots on one or more RSPS platforms, such as RuneList. These platforms offer multiple ad spots for a longer period. For example, you could place an advertisement banner for one month at a fixed rate. Like content creators, placing advertisements on RSPS websites is certainly not always cheap either. The prices of these ads differ between websites and can range from $25 to $600 per month.

There are different types of advertisement opportunities available on Runescape private server community websites. For example, you can buy sidebar, header, footer, and vote gateway spots from us. We also sell an RSPS toplist sponsored server listing. Similar options are also found on many other RSPS platforms. Some of the most effective and sought-after ad banner placements are located on the vote gateway as these banners are typically visited the most by players voting for servers. The most expensive ad spot is the Sponsored Server Listing, also known as Top Ads. These range from $100 to $600 per month and place your server at the top of the list.

	3. Advertise with Google Ads

Advertising through Google is flexible and allows you to spend as little or as much as your budget can handle. Via Google Ads, you can indicate for which target groups, origins, and interests you want to advertise. You will find a difference in price per keyword used. A keyword is a word that describes the content on your page or post best. By using Google Ads, when a specific keyword is searched your website will appear at the top of the search term, or other various key placements. This makes your website stand out immediately and can lead players to your website quickly.

With further research and implementation, you can also advertise almost for free on Google. For example, SEO (Search Engine Optimization) can contribute to a higher position on Google. The better your SEO is, the faster and better you can be found on Google. Stay tuned for future articles related to SEO.

	4. Advertise on Social Media

Advertising on social media works almost exactly the same as advertising on Google. Social media, such as Facebook and Instagram, allow people to advertise based on target group, origin, and keywords. You get to choose how well your ad performs based on your budget. These ads will then appear in the feed of the people. Additionally, creating social media pages is a great free resource to increase your SEO and thus get noticed.

	5. Use an RSPS Toplist (FREE)

An RSPS toplist, also called a RuneScape Private Server List, can contribute to the acquisition of new players. It is quite easy to add your server to a top list. First of all, you have to make sure you have voting software on your own website. Then you can register a server via an RSPS List. Here you fill in useful information and add images that will make your server stand out. Because people vote for your server, your server will be higher in the list and will be noticed faster. It is possible to purchase additional votes on some lists, although this is certainly not recommended. There is also the possibility to purchase highlighted toplist listings, these stand out more than the normal listings, so you can catch the eyes of new players easily.

	6. Create advertisement threads on RSPS platforms (FREE)

Another great free method to promote your server is to create advertisement and project threads on RSPS community websites, such as RuneList or Rune-Server. Here you can share the features of your server, include images of gameplay, and explain to players how to play the game. This method is not always as fast as the other options mentioned but is nonetheless an option that should be used.

	7. Advertise in Discord Communities (FREE)

Advertising in Discord Communities is usually free. In most cases, you can place a post with information about your server in the advertisement section of a RSPS discord community. Members of these Discords may see ads in these sections and choose a server they are interested in. It is also important that you study the rules within the community. For example, in multiple Discord Communities you cannot just share a direct link to your server’s website. Some require you to have a certain level of membership or rank within the community. Other communities might require you to share only links associated with their website. This is easily done by posting a link to your server’s website in the free advertisement / project thread you created in the previous step. This article, which contains a url to your website, can often be shared in Discord Communities as opposed to direct links.

When it comes to bringing in more players to your RSPS it is normally a bit of a struggle at first. So today I would like to take the time to explain the 3 most important steps you can take to boost your Runescape private servers player count. While everyone has their own idea of how to properly run their server it is always good to keep in mind that there is also a right and wrong way on how to broadcast your server to attract people. The information I am going to tell you is based on principles I have learned from my own experiences, as well as what I have learned from both successful and unsuccessful servers I have examined over the years I have been involved in the RSPS community.

	1. Make an RSPS Players Will Actually Enjoy

If only it were that simple, right?! Well, whether you are just looking to make an RSPS or searching for new ways to draw more players to your existing server - one of the first things to consider is the content your server has to offer and the quality of it. When it comes to content, not every player enjoys the same style of gameplay. You may like what your server has to offer, but keep in mind others may not like the same type of content as you. Or maybe the content you do have is awesome, but it’s just not enough to retain players or keep them coming?

Some players prefer PvM & Economy-based RSPS, whereas others enjoy PvP servers more. However, the ideal server in some players’ minds not only provides a stable economy but also includes a good mixture of both PvM & PvP. Many servers may offer one or multiple styles and see amazing results, whereas others struggle to ever take off. That is where the success of your server often comes down to the quality of the content in it. Possessing a wide variety of content is firstly important, but just because the content is there does not mean it is great. If the content is incomplete, full of bugs, or simply does not tie in with the game well, then players will be less inclined to play that content. Maintaining a wide variety of quality content is one of the most important things you can offer to players. This is what will help keep players online as opposed to them leaving due to incomplete or little content. If your server has amazing content, then your players and even the greater RSPS community will do a lot of talking for you.

	2. Advertise Your RSPS

Marketing is an especially important step to branching out in the RSPS scene. This is the part many people who make servers do not fully understand on their own. If you make a server and have a few friends come to play, then maybe they will tell some of their friends and you could grow that way, sure. But that is not going to place your server in front of the eyes of thousands of potential players out there. With that said, I am going to tell you how you can take your RSPS advertising to the next level. While some advertising is free… better RSPS advertising doesn’t always come cheap, but it is your best bet at getting your server’s name to the masses quickly.

Your presentation, otherwise known as branding, is one of the first aspects you should consider as it is the first thing players see. Choosing a good RSPS graphic designer is key to creating an appealing logo, animated advertisement banner, thread layout, signature, website... you probably get the idea. You need gfx for a lot of things in your server. You may need more than one graphic designer even, but it is a good idea to stick with one, for the most part, to keep your branding consistent. Players love consistency, right? You can give that impression to players off the bat by simply offering good media. If someone sees your ad banner or thread layout and immediately thinks “Wow, that design is cool!” You are already starting off on a good foot. This will help get you more clicks and motivate players to explore further.

Once you have your graphics you have almost endless options to get them in the faces of players. Be relentless with your advertisement! Make a project/advertisement thread on every RSPS forum you can find to maximize the number of potential viewers. Some things you could do to advertise your RSPS include:

		Post your server on every RSPS toplist and offer good incentives to players to vote;

		Share your project/advertisement threads in discord channels as often as allowed;

		Pay for ads on RSPS lists and other Runescape-related websites, social media, and Google;

		Partner with popular RSPS Youtubers & streamers to create video content;

Offer giveaways & promotions - Discord invite competitions, other referral programs, limited-time new player bonuses …the options are endless.

	3. Continuously Update & Improve

Update, bump and improve your server, website, and any threads you have across RSPS forums as often as you possibly can! Not offering enough updates or releasing content the community does not agree with can cause a server to slowly die, or never take off at all. Keep the RSPS community and your players engaged by keeping them up to date with everything that is going on in your server. Players like to feel involved and a part of the creation of the server, so constantly offer them updates and actively listen to their feedback.

Release at least two updates every week to make players aware that you are continuously making moves to improve the game. If you can manage more, then more power to you! Another good strategy is to offer different types of updates each week to keep things interesting. If you add a new boss or minigame this week, then maybe switch things up next week with a new zone for training. Be sure to include bug fixes & other improvements too, especially things suggested by players. You want to give players that feeling of “Wow! This server is constantly growing and offering fun, new activities & improvements!” Otherwise, players will surely lose interest over time and find a server that offers more exciting/frequent updates.

As a server owner, you may find it difficult to keep up with frequently releasing updates to the community while trying to manage everything else. However, with the correct time management or team behind you, anything is possible. Set aside about one hour out of your week to prepare and post updates to every source you can. Pick a day and time each week you would like to release an update, then set reminders for yourself to get it done on time. Take about 15-30 minutes to gather information and write it out, then another 10-15 minutes to share it on your website, discord, and any other RSPS community discord or forums you can post to. If you cannot handle everything by yourself, then simply ask other members of your team to help make sure your server never misses its scheduled update release. Lastly again, I cannot stress this enough: consistency is KEY.

A RSPS toplist is a list of the top Runescape Private Servers currently available to play. A RSPS list is organized by the most popular servers found at the top of the list, descending to the least popular servers. Several top RSPS list exist today that contain hundreds of unique servers for you to choose from. See a RSPS list

	About RSPS Toplists

The popularity of a RSPS is determined by the number of votes it has received by players on a toplist. Players can vote for a RSPS every 12-24 hours by visiting a toplist website or click the “Voting” page found on most servers’ individual websites. In order for a server to be eligible for voting, the server owner must register their server with a toplist. Additionally, most servers integrate the toplist API into their website and server code in order for players to easily vote and receive rewards for voting.

	Vote Rewards

Voting for a Runescape private server is often seen as a great method for new players to earn money. Players are able to accumulate points from voting which may be used to receive a variety of in-game rewards from many servers. Those in-game rewards might include anything from gold to special perks or even rare items! Some servers also offer additional rewards for voting regularly or voting on particular toplists.

	RSPS List Advertising

Runescape private server toplists are a free resource for servers to boost their player count. Most RSPS see these toplists as a necessity for growth and often pay for prime placement of their server on the list or ad banners found throughout the website. Pricing for paid advertisements can range from $10 up to $500 per month and typically depends on the amount of traffic a toplist website receives.

A RuneScape Private Server, also known as RSPS, is a user-made gaming server based on the original game 'RuneScape'. Even though they may look the same as RuneScape - RuneScape Private Servers are actually not affilated with Jagex, the original creators of RuneScape. Instead they are managed by individuals or small online teams dedicated to re-creating their own version of the game. This means you cannot use your RuneScape account to login to a RSPS, and vise-versa.

	The birth of RSPS

RSPS first came into existence around 2005 with the purpose of learning how to create bots to automate tasks within official Runescape servers. A single-player server known as, “Winter Love,” was set up and game mechanics were studied in order to create a proper protocol for bots before unleashing them into real Runescape. Shortly following this, Winter Love multiplayer was released to the public for players to play online together. Instantly, it was a hit, and so began the Runescape private server revolution! Thousands of unique RSPS have since existed and an entire niche community of its own has flourished.

	What's different about RSPS

Many players enjoy RSPS because they are oftentimes modified to offer players an easier or more unique gameplay experience in comparison to Runescape. Most servers offer features to players, such as, the ability to level their character up more quickly and collect rare items easily. In some instances, Runescape private servers even create their own custom items for you to collect, maps to explore, and NPC’s for you to interact with that are not found in real Runescape. The gameplay is sometimes so different within some servers that they require a new aptitude to play, but very fun.

Creating a RSPS is not as easy as it may seem. It requires a lot of time, planning and effort from multiple individuals in order to create a server. But creating a server and making it popular are two different things. In this news post, we will cover all the aspects of what it takes in order to create a successful RSPS.

	Creating a popular RSPS

	Step One: Planning

The first step is one of the most important. It involves thinking about what type of server you plan on hosting and what revision as well as content you are to include. You can read more about types by clicking here. In this newspost, we will only cover the basics to avoid repetition. The majority of servers tend to become an economy server that focuses on Player vs Monster content such as Chambers of Xerics, The Inferno, The Nightmare and Theatre of Blood. Other servers tend to focus on PvP, or player-vs-player, which involves activity around the Wilderness.

In addition, you must also think about what revision you are to create. This is an important decision because if you plan on creating a business out of your RSPS, then you need to do research and see which revision players currently prefer to play. However, if you are only doing this as a hobby or for a smaller group of individuals then you can choose what ever suits you best.

As of the current day, 14th December 2021, the most popular choice are Oldschool Runescape (DEOB) Economy Servers.

	Step Two: Assembly (Pre-Launch)

Second step is to assemble a team in order to assist you in the creation of your RSPS. Working alone is certainly possible, but it takes a substantial amount of time, knowledge and resources. Therefore, you need to think about who you want to work with. You will need multiple motivated individuals who strongly believe they are capable of pulling off the entire workload on their own. Some individuals that share the same mindset as you will be willing to work for a reduced amount of payment or for free. However, others that do not share the same mindset or who do development as a job will require you to pay them per task or per week/month. In order to create a successful RSPS you are required to have at least three developers with two focusing on the game whilst the other focuses on web development. Alongside that, you will more than likely need a manager to handle the administration, a moderation team, and marketing team. While this is the base outline for a solid team, it can be extended with additional members based on your needs and preferences (E.g. Modellers, Youtubers, Graphical Artists, etc).

It is recommended to have the following as a minimum to pull off a successful RSPS:

		x2 Game Developers

		x1 Website Developer

		x1 Game Manager

	Step Three: Development

Third step involves development of the game and the website. During this stage things might seem stale. While the developers work on the game there is not much to be done apart from building a community which we will cover later. The most important aspect to keep in mind is that developers may burn out from overworking whilst the team and players may lose motivation from extended waiting. One method to combat both is to ensure that the developers maintain a healthy workload and do not feel a constant need to work on the server. However, when they do spend time on adding new content, then it ought to be highlighted through a medium of communication, such as e.g. Discord, Skype, Forums or an outside community like RuneList. Seeing updates from the developers will motivate players and staff to involve themselves into the project by brainstorming ideas and discussing topics related to your game. In turn, that will motivate developers to continue working on the server.

	Step Four: Marketing

Fourth step is about marketing, which arguably is what makes or breaks a server. In order to efficiently market your RSPS, you need to have capital built up that you are ready to spend. Some of the most popular methods to advertise a RSPS involves paying Youtubers to make videos, creating threads and posts about your RSPS on outside communities (e.g. RuneList) through toplists, news and forums and mouth-to-mouth advertisement by players. While there are free methods of marketing, they aren't always as effective as the ones that require payment. Keep in mind that spending thousands of dollars on marketing won't necessarily make your server stand out. If your gameplay contains bugs, if the website is malfunctioning or if players are not satisfied with the game they are given then they will more than likely leave after an hour or two.

Down below you will find some very rough statistics based on interviews with server owners:

		Small Servers (0 to 50 Players): 0$ to 500$

		Medium Servers (50 to 250 Players): 500$ to 3,000$

		Large Servers (250 to 500 Players): 3,000$ to 7,500$

Massive Servers (Over 500 Players): Over 7,500$

Keep in mind one can obtain more/less players with more/less invested.

	Step Five: Launch

The final step is the launch, which is one of the most important one. Several server owners tend to say that the launch is the peak of your server. Therefore, you wish to aim at more players on launch then you plan on maintaining. E.g. If your goal is to keep 300 players online at all times, you will want to reach around 550 on launch as most of them aren't deeply invested into the game and will more than likely leave shortly. Another good technique is to think that 1/10 of your discord members will stay and play your server. The biggest mistake you need to look out for is rushing your launch. Rushing to launch is a mistake that a lot of servers do due to e.g. investors and time restraints. The problem is that a lot of aspects are overlooked which can lead to significant problems for the players. Make sure you have everything ready before you launch, or postpone it to a later date.

	Conclusion

To summarize, you need to have a good strategy, a strong team and at least a little bit of money in order to create a popular rsps. Look into the most popular server type and revision, assemble the team you deem to be fit and give the server your all!

If you are new to the Runescape Private Server scene, then you might find yourself overwhelmed by the countless, flashing advertisement banners and lists of servers. With so many options available and multiple servers claiming to be the best it can be quite confusing where to begin. Lucky for you, in this guide you are going to learn exactly how to find the perfect RSPS for you to play.

	Gameplay Types

The first thing you need to do is determine what type of gameplay you most enjoy in Runescape. Think about what years of the game were most memorable to you. Some of those periods might include pre-EOC, RS3, or OSRS. You might also enjoy a custom RSPS which could include a mashup of more than one period (also known as a revision) of Runescape, or even something completely new. Another aspect to consider is whether you prefer PvP or Economy based play. Check out this detailed guide to learn more about RSPS types.

	Finding a RSPS

Once you determine which type of gameplay you enjoy the most, the next step is to start trying out servers. By using a RSPS toplist you may find an organized list of servers ranking from the most popular to the least. However, keep in mind that just because a server may or may not be more popular than another does not mean it is any greater or lesser than others. Most all servers have something different to offer, so it is up to you to decide what you enjoy. Toplists are a great resource to find information and media regarding key features servers have to offer. Additionally, you may also find links those server’s websites and Discord where you may find more details.

	Selecting Gamemodes

Once you find the RSPS that suites you best it is time to begin your journey! Download the server’s client to play. This can usually either be find on the server’s website or Discord. Most servers allow you to create an account by simply typing a username and password, then logging in. Others may require you to sign-up on their website first. Once you login, many RSPS have multiple exp and game modes to choose from upon logging in. Follow the game’s instructions and select the best style that suites your play. Finally, it is time to have fun and explore!

	General In-game help

Runescape private servers usually offer a variety of resources to assist new players. Often times you can join the “help” clan chat in order to receive help from staff and other players. This would be the best place to connect with the community while you are clicking around and exploring. Another useful tip is to type ::commands upon logging in. Most servers offer a list of commands that players may use to navigate the game. Some of the commands might include ::home, ::shops, ::Dzone, and so many more!

In the end, it is best to try out multiple servers because there are so many options available and every server has something different to offer. You really will not know what you like the most until you try a few!

Best of luck in your adventures! If you ever need any help at all remember Runelist is here for you and all your RSPS needs.
Runescape Private Servers (RSPS) have existed for many years now and in that time a wide variety of different types and revisions have been developed. In this article we are going to explore the features and differences between RSPS modes and revisions and how combining them can lead to some truly unique experiences

	1. RSPS Types

There are three main types of RSPS: Economy, PvP and a mix of the two. Typically, servers tend to focus on one type. In rare cases, they might attempt to create multiple worlds where one world is of e.g. Economy whilst the other is PvP. The economy and PvP game types could be seen as opposites as one heavily focuses on Player versus Monster (PvM) environments, while the other is based around Player versus Player (PvP) action.

	1.1 Economy

The economy server type is one of the most popular server types out there. By playing an economy RSPS, you will mainly be focusing on leveling up your account through solo modes like the ironman game modes, or by trading and interacting with others through what is known as a standard mode. In economy type servers, players rely on gathering resources through skilling and obtaining valuable items from mobs around the world. This type of server is recommended for players that enjoy casual gaming through AFK grindings while skilling, and easy to hard levels of combat.

	1.2 PvP

A Player-vs-Player or PvP RSPS requires a lot of knowledge regarding game mechanics. Therefore, it is mostly played by veteran players or players who simply enjoy more difficult challenges than casual PvM battles. In PvP, you fight other players with similar combat levels to your own. On login, you are typically given a set amount of items and a flexible amount of levels which you can change to fit your fighting style. The main object in PvP servers is to fight other players to climb the rankings of KD (Kills & Deaths) while obtaining powerful weapons and armours from killing your opponents. There tends to be very little to no focus on skilling and PvE aspects on PvP servers, so you should look for these only for the sake of some Player vs Player action.

	1.3 Mix of the Two

Many servers attempt to implement both PvP and Economy aspects into their game through a multitude of clever methods aimed to enhance gameplay and cater to a wider variety of players. For instance, some servers offer specific game modes allowing you to choose how you’d like to play. In the process of creating your account you might be prompted with which game mode you would like to choose. One or more modes are likely to be geared towards PvP which grants faster combat training rates, but result in reduced skilling rates.Other options might be economy modes with slower combat training rates and decent skilling rates. Keep in mind that servers that try to incorporate the best of both worlds do not always succeed and sometimes result in one type of gameplay dominating the other.

	2. RSPS Revisions

RSPS revisions specify what version of Runescape data a server is loading. Data means items, objects, monsters, animations, etc. So the higher revision a server has the more data that is included in the server from the most current version of the game. For example, a 614 revision contains close to 15,500 items while a 803 revision has over 30,000. Some players actually prefer the older look and feel of RSPS out of nostalgia. In other words, newer is not always better. In the end, everyone has their own opinion as to what type and revision of server is best, so I encourage you to try a variety to find the best RSPS for you.
