Is Self-Awareness Overrated or Just Misu

Has anyone here tried doing daily self-check-ins? Like, actually sitting down and asking yourself how you really feel before jumping into your day? I started doing this during a pretty stressful period at work, and I realized how often I was ignoring the obvious signs of burnout. Just curious if others have made this part of their routine and what you’ve noticed since then.

Yes, I’ve been doing that for the last few months, and it’s honestly been a game-changer. I used to feel constantly overwhelmed, like I was always reacting instead of making choices. Daily self-check-ins helped me spot patterns in my mood and energy. Sometimes I wake up thinking I'm fine, but when I pause and actually check in, I realize there’s something bothering me in the background—like an unresolved convo or just fatigue I hadn’t admitted.

Also, I’ve been using this tool I found through LinkedIn called Liven—it’s a self-discovery companion that makes the check-in process feel less abstract. Instead of journaling random thoughts, it guides you with reflections and helps you track patterns over time. If anyone’s curious, here’s the post that got me into it: liven app
You can also find some liven app reviews in the comments there. Totally recommend giving it a look if you’re trying to build more awareness into your day.

I've never used Liven, but I definitely relate to what you're both saying. For me, even just writing a few lines in my Notes app each morning makes a difference. Helps me catch those “off” feelings before they pile up.
