Hey folks, I’ve been selling on Shopify since late 2022 and just heard someone mention PayPal Working Capital as a funding option. I’ve used traditional loans before but never looked into what PayPal offers. I know it's supposed to be faster and easier, but I’m not sure what the actual requirements are in 2025. Anyone here qualified recently? Would love to hear how it works nowadays.

Hey, I actually just got approved for PayPal Working Capital about two months ago, so I can tell you a bit from first-hand experience. It’s definitely different from traditional loans — they don’t look at your credit score at all. Instead, they base eligibility mostly on your PayPal sales volume and account history. In my case, I’d had steady monthly sales (around $12–15K) over the past year, and I’d processed most of it through PayPal. The application literally took five minutes, and I had the offer instantly.

There are a few catches though: your PayPal account has to be in good standing, and you can’t have an open Working Capital loan already. Also, they’re more likely to approve you if you've paid off previous funding. I found this breakdown super helpful when I was researching: paypal working capital — they explain how the approval algorithm works and what sellers should keep in mind for 2025, especially with the updated policies PayPal quietly rolled out earlier this year.

I’ve been on the fence about trying it myself, but Rachel’s insight helps. I didn’t know they ignore credit scores — that’s a game-changer for some folks. Good to know sales consistency matters more than anything else. Will definitely check out that link too.
